Firstly, where the hell has the last 25 years gone?! It seems like it was only last week I was begging my mum for the change out of her purse for a 50p goody bag from the corner shop. All I ever wanted was to be a grown up, have the freedom to do whatever I wanted, when I wanted but now time seems to be moving way too quickly and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon; you blink and there goes 5 years.
Looking back over the last 5 years, graduating university, moving in with James and getting Indiana were incredible moments. So this got me thinking, when I look back again in 5 years time what will I have achieved? I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself, sometimes life simply gets in the way but ticking off even 50% of this list would be freaking amazing!
Here is my list of 30 things I’d like to do before I’m 30 (in no particular order)
Publish a book
Many of you will already know I’m currently writing a book and I’m hoping by 30 I’ll have it published or at least finished!
Make my own pizza dough
I’m a self confessed pizza addict and I’ve never made my own dough (I know, I’m ashamed of myself!)
I’m afraid of heights, my knees start to wobble just from standing on a table but for some reason I love the adrenaline I get from being up high, confused? Yeah I don’t really get it either.
Who wouldn’t though?
Romance and pizza…Sounds like heaven
Rescue a dog
Because Indiana needs a pal right?
Road trip through America
There are so many places in America I want to visit and I’ve never even been; what better way to see them than in a 1950’s Cadillac with the roof down.
Get out of debt
I’ve been in debt for a couple of years now and it SUCKS. I’m sick of being that friend who constantly can’t afford it.
I’ve always said I’ll quit when I’m ready and in all honesty I’m not ready yet but I hope to be within the next year or so I will be.
Learn to drive
30+ lessons later and I still haven’t booked my test; you can only ask for so many lifts.
Buy a house
This one is going to be hard, first I’d have to get myself out of debt, then I have to try and find a house that I could actually afford.
Have a baby
Children have always been a big part of my life; I’ve been broody since the age of 10 but there’s a few things on this list I’ll have to achieve for this to happen.
Learn to say NO
I’m seriously crap at this.
The only excerise I do currently is dog walking.
Go on holiday for longer than a week
The longest holiday I’ve been on is a week and when it comes to the the end, you can’t help but want a few more days in paradise so next time I’m booking for a minimum of 10.
I missed out on this once but next time I’ll be the first one in.
Complete a 5k
I was considering a 10k but thought that would be a little optimistic.
Get another tattoo
There are so many I want but so little money, maybe just one more.
See Adele live
Beyoncé (tick) Sam Smith (tick) Stevie Wonder (tick) this is my the next legend on my list, hopefully she will do another tour soon.
You can call me Ariel.
Organise a girls only trip abroad
I can’t believe I’m 25 and I’ve never been on a girls only trip abroad.
Grow my hair past my boobs
When I was 18, I shaved the majority of my hair off and then a couple of years later started to grow it out; it’s certainly getting there but I think I’m a couple years off whipping it back and fourth.
Learn to meditate
I’ve tried a couple of apps including headspace and to be fair, it did help so I’d love to get back into it.
Watch a movie at an outdoor cinema
Snuggling up on a blanket, bottomless popcorn and a classic movie like grease = the perfect date night
Start a YouTube channel
I’ve always wanted to start my own YouTube channel, dip my toe into the world of vlogging but at the moment, nerves are getting the better of me.
Learn another language
The only experience I have of learning a second language is year 9 German and lets just say it didn’t end well. Maybe I could try french?
Buy myself a bunch of flowers
I’m forever waiting for somebody to buy me flowers but the reality is I could be waiting a long time.
Finish knitting a whole blanket
Theres a blanket I’ve been knitting for 4 years and I haven’t even finished half of it.
Buy a car
Hopefully I’ll pass my driving test, pay off all my debt and have enough money to buy a car.
Because I seriously need to work on my flexibility.
